ABOUT:
When quarantine started, I almost entirely stopped writing songs (as in tracks with words)

In large part because I felt like I was not the person to write songs about what was happening in the world

& generally it felt too weird to write songs about anything else 

So, one thing I began doing with a lot of the free time I suddenly had (from not writing songs & not playing shows), was digging through & organizing old recordings I had from different collaborations I was a part of / bands I was in

one that really began to resonate with me is the Koala song “The World that Ended the Dream”

(the last song on our last record “We Are Like the Spider.  We are Like the Dreamer”)

I found a couple samples from that track that I really liked playing with / manipulating in different ways

It kinda sorta felt like playing with those dudes again & was a lot of fun

on this record, “2020”, recordings of me playing with these two samples are layered in with live recordings from the past couple Dronezones (the virtual one & then the in person @ the Reliquarium one) as well as overdubbing additional layers using my guitar & MPC
